We asked you what you're up to, and here are a few responses:
‘We have been teaching in the city of Changchun, Jilin Province, China for the past month. Still enjoying it very much and enjoying learning about a new culture, it is very different here to Thailand!
The people are very welcoming and the education system is a lot stricter here. The parents are a lot stricter on their children so the kids are motivated in a different way to the Thai kids.
We are headed for a -25 degree winter so the weather is vastly different from Thailand!
If anyone would like info about working / living here they are welcome to send us an email.
Hope you are well,
Shenene and Shanna’
‘I am currently teaching at Anuban Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya School. I enjoy it here quite a bit. I am teaching English to both English program and Thai Program students. I follow a student book and teachers guide for the English program students (I don't really have a choice until I finish the book) as for the Thai program I can do what I want with them’. – Alexander
‘Rosanne and Kathryn,
How are you both? Hope the new class is fun and loving it as much as I did! I'm still at Oonrak as the Kindergarten 2 teacher. I love my job and obviously the location as I am on Koh Samui.’ – Alison
Just to let you know that I started a job as a nursery teacher yesterday for students 3-4 years old in Koh Phangan. It’s a great little nursery, small classes, 1 teacher per 4 students. Really enjoying it, first couple days have been so much better than I expected to be honest, and I have realised that I have more of a passion for it than I thought, so happy!
Thank you for everything. Hope all is well with you both :-)
sorry for the delayed reply - nothing new to report. It's been good fun here in Ubon - I've got a lovely bunch of colleagues! Vidhya's landing tomorrow - looking forward to finally meeting her.
Let’s hear from the rest of you please!
