About the course

  • Samui TEFL's 4 week intensive course, offers both practical training and classroom sessions to equip you with the knowledge and skills required to teach English to non-native speakers.
  • Teacher practices are done at the International School of Koh Samui, Oonrak private English program school and Plai Laem temple school. Being immersed into this 'real school environment' will give you the confidence required to teach on your own, once you qualify. We also have groups of children and adults who come to our training centre for free English lessons.
  • Class times are Monday to Friday, 8:45 am to 2:45 pm, for both in-class sessions and teacher practices.
  • The benefits of doing some teacher practices at the International School of Samui, means that you not only get practice teaching Thai students, but also children of many nationalities.
  • The training centre is located near Big Buddha, within walking distance to markets, restaurants, Big Buddha and Wat Plai Laem temples and public transport.

Upon successful completion of our 4-week TEFL course, you will receive a certificate which is recognised worldwide. Samui TEFL's course meets and exceeds the basic international criteria, as we offer 120 hours of classroom time and 8 hours of observed teaching practice.

Course Fees

Our standard rate for the 4-week course is 47500B  (approx 1545USD or 960GBP) but frequent specials apply and includes the following added value extras, for FREE:
  • Airport collection
  • Free WIFI at the training centre, as well as the use of a computer, printer, copier and laminator for lesson planning.
  • A welcome dinner during the first week of the course.
  • A teacher's bag, filled with stationery and resources - you shouldn't need to buy any materials.
  • A loan cell phone for the duration of your course (you keep the SIM card afterwards).
  • Personal assistance with tailoring your CV/Resume to the Asian market.
  • 24-hour emergency assistance for the duration of your course
  • Transport to your teacher practicals - no additional expenses.
Payment methods and terms:
  • A 50% deposit is required to secure your place on the course. The balance is due on the first day of the course.
  • Payment can be made either via cash in Thai Baht, into our bank account (details will be provided on invoice) or via PayPal. (PayPal costs are for the student's account.)
  • Deposits are not refundable or transferable. If you cannot attend the course date reserved, you may move your reservation to another date, subject to availability, provided that 30 day's prior notice is given.
  • No refunds are provided to students who do not pass the course. We do our utmost to assist our teachers, if they are struggling in a particular area.
We have sourced well priced, bungalow style accommodation close to the training centre. This information will be sent to you on booking your course, so that you can book and pay for your accommodation separately. Please have a look at the FAQ page, for more information on the accommodation.
